Welcome.  We extend a warm welcome to EVERYONE.  The candle/s will be lit a few minutes before the service begins and the organist will stop playing.  There will be a period for quiet reflection before the service begins.  This helps you to –

·                   Before the service speak to the Lord

·                   During the service let the Lord speak to you

·                   After the service speak to one another

==============================================

If you are aware of anyone within our fellowship who is in need of prayer and can be included in our intercessions during morning worship, please enter their names in the intercessions book which is kept in the prayer chapel.  Alternatively you can give any names to Dorothy Gardiner (20701497) by Sunday morning – likewise, please let her know if someone no longer needs prayer.

GORDON BAKER from Rev John Ashplant

As a family we share with you the shock of Gordon’s sudden death.  He had been with us for three weeks, comforting us, following Barbara’s death.

You know how much he meant to us, and we know how much he meant to you.  He loved Trinity and its people so very much.  We may never see his like again.

Today is METHODIST HOMES SUNDAY and there are envelopes in the pews for contributions towards their work.  This year they celebrate 65 years of the care of the elderly.  We are fortunate to have four examples of that care here in Penarth – Morel Court Residential Home, Ty Gwyn Nursing Home, Penarth House Retirement Flats and Trinity Live at Home Scheme serving lunches and much more Monday to Friday – all part of the 150 schemes nationwide.  Your contributions will ensure that this care, mental, physical and spiritual, continues and grows.  Thank you.

The Scattering of Ashes of the late Gordon Baker

There will be a brief service of the scattering of Gordon Baker’s ashes immediately after the Church Service this morning in the Church gardens adjacent to Stanwell Road around a tree planted in remembrance of Margaret and where her remains also lie. You are most welcome to attend.  Some of the members of Gordon’s family from Birmingham are here with us this morning and we warmly welcome them.

On Sunday 15th June the Penarth Circuit will be sharing morning worship at the Amelia Trust Farm on Five Mile Lane, Barry.  In the interest of conserving funds it has been decided not to book a bus this year but instead to share lifts.  To enable this to happen smoothly, please would you sing up on the chart located in the main foyer indicating:

a)          how many people you could offer a lift to, or

b)          that you are looking for a lift.

Names and telephone numbers are required so that stewards may match offers and requirements and put people in touch with each other.  Don’t delay, sign up today!  Many thanks.
