Family News

Good wishes to our members and friends as we remember them each week:  Dorothy Huntley in Ty Gwyn, Alice Blakeborough in Southway, Margaret Chivers in Parkside and Marjorie Davis, Joyce Melville and Betty Edwards at home.

Peggy Toye is still in the Heath Hospital, and her Doctors are thinking of operating on her hip.

Dave Brigham is home from hospital but is not too well.

Jean Pullin is still not well enough to come back to Church.

We continue to think of our members and friends who are poorly at this time and wish them all better health in the future.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Hedley, Chris and family.

A lovely time was had by all at the Amelia Trust Farm last Sunday. Thanks to all those who arranged so many things for us to do.  It was a shame about the weather, as we had to have our picnic in the hall but we still had a lot of fun.

We are looking for a new Home Missions Secretary to replace Jane Chick who has retired after many years of service.  The job entails counting the Home Missions boxes in July/August and receiving any donations, then passing the total on to Margaret to be sent to London – not a very onerous task.  If you are willing to take this on, please see Margaret.  Our sincere thanks to Jane for her years of service for Home Missions.

Revs Graeme and Elaine Halls would like you to know that they are not seeking an extension to their existing appointment in the Penarth Circuit and will be moving on to a new Circuit in August 2009.

Revs Elaine and Graeme Halls are extremely grateful for all your love, thoughts and prayers over the last few weeks, since Elaine’s mum, Sylvia, died suddenly in Ty Gwyn.  The cards, letters and conversations have been real reminders of friends who share our journey of faith.  God bless you all.

If you would like to order this year’s Prayer Handbook at a cost of £2.25, please let Margaret or Rev. Elaine Halls know within the next two weeks.

Albert Road raised £696.26 for the recent Christian Aid House to House collection .  Grateful thanks to all who collected to raise this excellent amount.

The total for the Gift Day so far stands at £949.12.We are still happy to receive gifts from those who haven’t yet given and who wish to do so.
