Trinity is the largest of the four churches within the Penarth Methodist Circuit and worships in a very impressive building at the junction of Stanwell Road and Woodland Place, just up from the town centre.
With a membership of 229 and an average congregation of 93 it makes up above half of our circuit. Trinity is in the Pastoral Care of Rev. Prof. Teddy Kalongo who moved to the Penarth circuit from Zambia in August 2007. He can be contacted on 029 20707013 or kalongot@supanet.com
Family Worship takes place on Sundays at 10.30am (with Sunday School for all ages) and evening services are alternated with the other churches in the circuit. There is usually an ALL AGE WORSHIP service on the 4th Sunday of each month which seeks to appeal to young people in particular.
Trinity is home to a variety of groups throughout the week:
MHA LIVE AT HOME SCHEME provides meals, company and support for elderly folk who are still living in their own homes. Please contact the co-ordinator, Linda Brownhill for more information - 029 2071 2516.
WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP meets fortnightly at Trinity on Tuesday evenings at 7.45pm.
TRINITY DRAMA GROUP performs a variety of material, usually as part of a Sunday service.
PRAYER GROUP meets every Friday in the Chapel, 9.30 - 10.00am.
TODDLER GROUP provides an opportunity for parents/carers to relax and have a chat while the children play in the upstairs hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1.30pm.
For details of a monthly house group please contact Mrs. Ruth Coward: 029 20636668 or ruth.coward@ntlworld.com
Music at Trinity Methodist Church
The Choir
The church has had a choral tradition for many generations. At present the choir sings for Christmas and Easter services and for two or three special events each year. Those interested are asked to provide their e-mail address to the deputy organist naunton@liles.org.uk who will circulate information as events arise.
The Organ
The church has an organ of outstanding merit. It was built by Norman & Beard in 1908 and celebrated its centenary in the summer of 2007. It can be heard every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. and the organist Mrs Evelyn Careless and her deputy Naunton Liles can provide further details. Other Music
Mrs Janet Pedwell directs music for several groups within the church, including the children's contributions to the worship.
